    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to analyse the attitude of four teachers to leadership in the classroom. The main research questions asked were:

    • What are the teachers` views on leadership in the classroom?
    • What does good versus  bad leadership mean to the teachers?
    • What factors influence the teachers' leadership in the classroom, according to themselves?

The method used is the qualitative method and interviews, which is my empirical material, I relate to different theories and previous research of leadership.

The curriculum for the compulsory school system, the pre-school class and the leisure-time centre, Lpo 94, says a lot about how both the school and the teacher must pursue a democratic activity; the teacher must have a democratic leadership in the classroom (Lpo 94, s. 5). At school, the pupils should be met with respect, they should feel safe and be motivated to learn. They must constantly develop and have lots of opportunities to experience the joy of making progress (Lpo 94, s. 7).

A teacher's leadership is all about control and leading students to the goals that are set up and that pupils should achieve. Knowledge and development are the most important factors in school and therefore it is important to find out what different leadership styles that are most successful.

    Abstract [en]

his Essay refers to a comparative study. The comparative study is specifically between Botswana and South of Africa. The main aim is to examine the flaws and shortcomings in each of the country, especially the constitutional democracy of every one of them. By doing a research, I have found that both of the countries share, nor exactly but very similar aspects of history and background information. One thing South Africa and Botswana have in common is industry of developing diamonds. To be able to understand the history of each and other country, it is important to define the time delimitation. The time delimitation extends way back from 1966, this when Botswana became and independent constitutional community. Botswana is, till this day, still an independent country.Meanwhile, South Africa became a democratic government in 1977, and especially when Nelson Mandela was voted to become the first president of color. Mr. Mandela did not just inspire his own community, nor his people about the articles that refers to human rights, he did inspire the whole wide world about his admissions and strength to overcome racism in such way. Today’s view back, at each and every country, there is a clear pattern that these two countries, and many more countries in Africa have made a wide democracy progress because of the human rights articles. Though, the biggest issue these countries may have in common, unfortunately, is the high level of discrimination. While using Rober Alan Dahl’s theory, the criteria’s of democracy will be presented. It is very important to really take matter of actions and emphasize which of the criteria’s that considers being fulfilled, and which considers not to be fulfilled.

Key words: Botswana, South Africa, Robert Dahl, Democratic
